Theory of Obscurity: A Film About the Residents. This film peels back some of the mysterious layers surrounding the San Francisco experimental music entity.
George spoke with Eric Steuer about one of his favorite docs, EXIT THROUGH THE GIFT SHOP (2010). The only film credited to Banksy, Exit Through The Gift Shop tells the story of Thierry Guetta, a self-taught street artist/documentarian who ends up becoming the subject of the film.
We are thrilled to have as our guest journalist, activist and comedian Francesca Fiorentini as we recap Michael Moore’s latest documentary Fahrenheit 11/9. Francesca is known famously for her work on AJ+ Newbroke. As with most Sup Doc episodes we have differences, lot of laughs, in-depth moments, no real conclusions and we get schooled in “postcolonial feminist theory”!
On Ep 83 we sat down with comedian Alex Hooper to talk about the Academy award-winning documentary Man On Wire. Alex has a strong connection to this doc because he recently started slacklining and as we discover there is more than a casual connection between walking on a wire without a net and performing comedy!
Our guest is author Tony Dushane and we talk about 20,000 Days On Earth the film that examines a day in the life of music icon Nick Cave. We get into music, religion, creativity and even writing tips from Tony, who teaches novel writing at UCLA Extension. Tony DuShane is the author and screenwriter of Confessions of a Teenage Jesus Jerk.
In this bonus content hosts Paco Romane and George Chen talked with the legendary comedian Wayne Federman about Halloween, Regan and the doc The Tickle King! You can hear this great chat and others for as low as $1 a month! We also have great Sup Doc swag for all of our patreon supporters as well!
